District Technology Coordinator/Director

POSITION TITLE: District Technology Coordinator/Director

F.L.S.A. STATUS: Exempt

QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum 3 years experience with Windows servers which includes installing servers. Windows XP or later editions knowledge. DOS knowledge. Ghost imaging knowledge. Thorough Access database knowledge. Working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Basic understanding of network switches and routers.

REPORTS TO: Superintendent or designee.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Eleven months, salary and benefits to be established by the Board of Education.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Manage Technology budget
  • Maintain district's operating servers and stay up to date with current versions.
  • Install and maintain network application software.
  • Manage and upgrade SIS K-12 databases.
  • Maintain complex Access databases.\Hardware maintenance.
  • Install software and train users.
  • Update and maintain network virus protection.
  • Setup and maintain Windows policies user policy packages.
  • Setup ghost imaging boot disks and images.
  • Maintain network switches and routers.
  • Attend training classes as necessary.
  • Create/maintain documentation for all job-related procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues..
  • The ability to use prior knowledge in a new situation.
  • Demonstrate logical thinking skills.
  • Perform work independently and/or in a team environment.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with end users.
  • Attend/participate construction meetings as required.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with end users.
  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this position.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this position and employee is regularly required to sit, talk, and hear. The employee is frequently required to walk and use fingers. The employee is occasionally required to stand, reach, bend, lift, and carry up to twenty pounds. The employee must have the ability to lift forty pounds to shoulder height occasionally. Close vision ability to look at a computer screen for long periods of time is required.
